The RacingDatabase.com Syndicate Report, Autumn 2026: 177 syndicate wins from 1,358 runs in Q3 2026, median first year £900, median £1,155 per 1%.

Every quarter we'll turn the data behind RacingDatabase.com into one short report that anyone can quote. The first one is out today: The RacingDatabase.com Syndicate Report: Autumn 2026. It's facts only, with the method, the dates and the limits on the page.

What We Counted

Results are for the syndicates and clubs listed in our directory, from official UK and Irish results. Prices and shares are each syndicate's own published figures, checked by hand in October 2026. Read the full method and sources.

Results In Q3

  • 177 wins from 1,358 runs between 1 July and 30 September 2026, a 13.0% strike rate. Q2 was 183 from 1,406 (13.0%).
  • 149 of the 470 horses that ran won at least once.
  • 52 of the 84 syndicates that ran had a winner, and the middle syndicate had 1 win.

The full season is on the league tables and the winners leaderboard.

What A First Year Costs

This is a first snapshot, so there's no trend yet. Across the 28 listings with a price we can work out, the median first-year cost is £900, from £99 to £8,950. The Price Index will track it month by month.

Price Per 1%

The median first year per 1% of a horse is £1,155 across 69 sterling shares, from £310 to £4,800. A lower figure isn't automatically better value. See Price Per 1% and today's shares for sale.

The Funding Squeeze

The report also has a new section, The Funding Squeeze: What The Budget Means For Syndicate Owners. The government has announced a rise in betting duties from April 2027, and racing's governing body, the BHA, says it could cut the money that goes into prize funds. We set out what changes and when, where prize money comes from, and our October 2026 cost figures, so you can see for yourself whether prices move. There's more in our new guide, Where Prize Money Comes From.

What We Can't Tell You

The numbers cover listed syndicates only and are minimums. Small groups move a lot, and the all-runner strike rate is context rather than a measure of skill. Paid listings never affect the figures. Racehorse ownership is a hobby, not an investment, and this isn't advice.
