BHA Licensed Syndicates: Who's On The Register
Since 1 January 2026, anyone running a syndicate or racing club that advertises publicly, or is paid to run it, needs a licence from the British Horseracing Authority. Here are the 85 UK syndicates and racing clubs in our directory that are on the BHA's public register (checked 24 Oct 2026), listed by syndicate or club name or under the manager their own website names, with the register entry for each.

What BHA Registration Means
- A licence is now required. The BHA says a licence "will be required by any person or company with ultimate responsibility for the finances, promotion and/or management of a Syndicate or Racing Club" (Shared Ownership Regulation). Existing syndicators and club managers had to have one by 1 January 2026, and that applies to licensed trainers who run their own syndicate or club too (BHA announcement).
- What the BHA checks. It says the licence lets it "evaluate applications more thoroughly, assessing key areas such as business competence and an understanding of how to properly advertise and promote shared ownership", so that its minimum standards are "clear, understood and met by anyone with financial responsibility for a syndicate or racing club".
- What it doesn't do. In the BHA's words, the licence "does not seek to interfere with the commercial business or stipulate how a shared ownership entity should be run". It isn't a guarantee of value, results or that you'll get money back.
- The codes still apply. Every syndicate must follow the BHA's Syndicates Code and every racing club its Racing Club Code, including giving you a written agreement before you join. Our guide to syndicate rules and BHA licensing explains more.
- Who is on the register. The BHA's public register lists each licence holder with the syndicates and racing clubs they manage. It's the licence holder that's licensed: syndicate and club names there are the names registered with the BHA, which can differ from a brand name.

Irish syndicates are regulated by Horse Racing Ireland, not the BHA, so the 11 Irish listings aren't part of this check and their profiles don't carry BHA wording.
