Price Check: What’s Changed
We re-checked 10 of the big names on their own websites today. Two we can now cost properly:
- Middleham Park Racing lists upfront and monthly prices on all 16 horses with shares for sale. The cheapest is a 2.5% share in Um Wadi (George Boughey) at £500 upfront + £110 a month from 1 Nov. That’s an estimated £1,820 for the first year.
- Hambleton Racing shows monthly costs on its current horses. A twelfth of the Kodi Bear filly (Karl Burke) is £3,729 + £325 a month, so about £7,629 for year one, with badges and vets included.
Highclere, Owners Group, Elite Racing Club, Ontoawinner, Racing Club and Kennet Valley are unchanged.
New Shares On Offer
- Middleham Park has a batch of yearlings with no monthly fees until 1 March 2027. Example: a 2.5% share in the Phoenix of Spain colt (David O’Meara) is £1,000 upfront, then £97.50 a month.
- Hambleton is filling an Archie Watson Yearling Syndicate: a twelfth costs £6,000 or less, plus £370 a month from November, and £500 holds a share.
- The Horse Watchers say new 10% shares are “available soon”.
Cheap Way In Of The Week
Elite Racing Club: £99 for 12 months (or £59 for six), and it never asks for more for training. That’s the lowest first-year cost on the site. Its horses are with trainers including Charlie Johnston, James Fanshawe and Sir Mark Prescott, with 3 wins from 32 runs this year. You can apply for an owners’ badge whenever a club horse runs, but places are limited.
