Badges For The Shortlist And The Winners

Every shortlisted syndicate gets a free Shortlisted badge for its own website, and every winner a Winner badge, one for each award. Using a badge is entirely up to you: it's never a condition of being shortlisted or winning, and it makes no difference to the results.

How The Awards Are Decided

  • Official race results only. Every run and win in Great Britain and Ireland from 1 January to 31 December 2026, from official race results compiled by RacingDatabase.com. It's the same data and the same counting as our winners leaderboard and league tables.
  • Who can win: every syndicate and racing club listed on RacingDatabase.com. There's no entry form, no fee, no vote and no judging panel. Listing is free: add a syndicate. A syndicate can win more than one award.
  • How a run is counted: a run counts when the official owner name on the result matches the syndicate. If two listed syndicates own a horse together, the run counts for both.
  • Strike rate means wins ÷ runs. It's a racing statistic, not a measure of value for money, and the minimum runs in each award stop one lucky winner from a couple of runs taking the prize.
  • Best Affordable Racing uses the estimated first-year cost in our first-year column, worked out from each syndicate's own published prices. Irish listings priced in euros qualify at a published first-year cost of €1,150 or less, worked out from their own published euro prices. We never convert between pounds and euros. It's about the most racing for a modest outlay, not about returns.
  • Premium members and Featured Partners get no advantage. Paid features on RacingDatabase.com are never used in the awards.

Tie-Break Rules

If two syndicates are level on an award's ranking measure, these decide it, in this order:

  1. Fewer runs.
  2. More different winning horses.
  3. The most recent win (the later date ranks higher).
  4. Still level after all three: they share the place, and the award is shared.

The shortlist is the top 3 places in each award. Anyone sharing third place is shortlisted too.

Timing

Standings use results up to 28 Oct 2026, and update every Thursday. The shortlists are published on Tue 1 Dec 2026. Racing up to and including Thu 31 Dec 2026 counts, so Boxing Day can still change things. We freeze and double-check the figures on 2 to 5 January, then announce the winners on Thu 7 Jan 2027.

Fairness And Corrections

Our matching can miss a horse that races under a members' or company name we can't link to a syndicate. If we've missed a run or a win, please tell us by Tue 15 Dec 2026 using our contact form (choose "Syndicate listing or correction") or report a correction. Include the date, the course and the horse, and we'll check it against the official result and reply. It goes straight to our support inbox, which also handles any question about fairness.

After Tue 15 Dec we still fix clear mistakes in our own counting before the winners are announced, and any change made after the winners are announced is noted on this page. If a listed syndicate would rather not be included, tell us and we'll leave it out.

The awards celebrate racing results. They aren't a recommendation to join any syndicate and they're not a betting guide: no odds, tips or racecards. Racehorse ownership is a hobby, not an investment. Always check the costs and the syndicate agreement before joining.
